Job summary

GM Defense is seeking a Lead Development Engineer to own vehicle performance integration across AVD and hardware execution phases. You will be the single voice for vehicle performance to the Vehicle Chief Engineer and drive program direction from concept to prototype and launch.

The role requires coordinating cross-functional teams, providing tuning direction, and ensuring on-time delivery for defense vehicle programs. Travel and collaboration with government customers are expected.

Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related.
  • Minimum 8 years total engineering experience.
  • Minimum 3 years in Vehicle Development experience in Ride & Handling, NVH, energy/drive quality or calibration.
  • In-depth knowledge of hardware, software, and calibration interfaces.
  • Travel as required; U.S. Person required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Vehicle Performance Integration Team and VPIT with data-driven decisions.
  • Guide vehicle performance balance across integration groups to ensure winning vehicles.
  • Participate in GVBR planning for Mule, IVER and PPV builds.
  • Provide tuning direction in Energy, Vehicle Dynamics, NVH, and drivability areas.
  • Manage development fleet usage and budget within annual allocation.
  • Support vehicle performance reviews and safety compliance.
