Job summary

Atlas Field Services is seeking a Vegetation Management Lead Work Planner to oversee QA/QC of vegetation work and to lead risk assessments in outdoor field conditions. This role requires strong written and verbal communication, forestry knowledge, and hands-on experience with TRAQ-like procedures.

You will coordinate with clients, contractors, and landowners, and participate in storm response and safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of specialized experience in Quality Control/QA, Utility Vegetation Management or related forestry fields.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Forestry, Arboriculture, Environmental Science or related discipline.
• ISA Certified Arborist certification required.
• Strong certifications: TRAQ, ISA Utility Specialist, BCMA.
• Advanced knowledge of ANSI A300, GO-95 and hazard tree evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed quality control assessments and audits of pre-inspection, tree-trimming, and vegetation management work to ensure client specs and safety standards.
• Perform comprehensive inspections of overhead power lines and rights-of-way to verify clearance and specify mitigation actions.
• Identify dead, dying, hazardous, or high-risk trees and document risk evaluations where applicable.
• Inspect and evaluate trees for hazard using TRAQ methodologies.
• Document findings, compile detailed reports, and enter data into client systems.
• Audit Work Planner performance for adherence to specs, quality, safety, and compliance; provide feedback.
• Collaborate daily with clients, contractors, landowners, stakeholders, and the public to communicate results and resolve concerns.
• Support emergency and storm response operations and hazard mitigation.
• Assist in line clearance projects, program improvements, and QA initiatives.
• Promote a strong safety culture while working independently or in teams outdoors.
