Job summary

Atlas Field Service seeks a Vegetation Management Lead Work Planner to perform quality control over vegetation projects, inspect lines for clearance, and document risk assessments. The role involves outdoor field work, collaboration with clients and contractors, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Ideal candidates have ISA Arborist certification and strong communication skills, with experience in TRAQ and utility vegetation standards. Travel and storm-response duties may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of specialized professional experience in Quality Control/QA, UVM, forestry, utility arboriculture, or related fields.
• 3+ years of equivalent experience may substitute for an Associates degree.
• Bachelor’s degree in Forestry, Arboriculture, Environmental Science, Biology, Natural Resources, or related discipline preferred.
• Active ISA Certified Arborist certification required.
• Preferred: TRAQ, ISA Utility Specialist, BCMA credentials.
• Advanced knowledge of tree ID, arboricultural practices, and utility vegetation mgmt standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting.
• Ability to multitask and work independently in outdoor environments.

Responsibilities

• Conduct quality control assessments and audits of vegetation work to ensure client specs, safety rules, and industry standards.
• Perform inspections of overhead power lines to verify clearance and identify non-compliant conditions.
• Identify dead, dying, hazardous, or high-risk trees and document mitigation needs.
• Inspect and evaluate tree hazard potential using TRAQ or equivalent methods.
• Document findings, compile reports, and enter data into client systems accurately.
• Audit Work Planner performance for adherence to specs, quality and safety, elevating issues as needed.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, landowners, and the public to communicate results and address concerns.
• Support emergency and storm response with rapid assessments and hazard mitigation as required.
• Assist in line clearance projects and quality improvement initiatives.
• Promote a strong safety culture and work effectively outdoors.
