Micron Technology, Inc is seeking a Principal/MTS Vapor/Thermal Etch Development Engineer to advance next-generation DRAM wet etch technologies. You will work with Process Integration, equipment teams, and vendors to push the boundaries of thermal and vapor etch processes.

The role emphasizes innovation, collaboration, and rigorous yield improvements. Required are a PhD with 5+ years (or Master’s with 7+ years) and 10+ years in related fields, with deep knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing

Qualifications

• PhD with 5+ years of experience or Master’s with 7+ years in relevant field.
• 10+ years in physics, chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or related area.
• Expert knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing and thermal, vapor, or ALD etch processes.
• Root-cause analysis or model-based problem solving experience.
• Thermodynamics, gas-phase reactions, transport phenomena, and reaction characterization; cross-functional leadership.
• Statistics and SPC knowledge; programming or scripting for data analysis.
• Experience applying AI-enabled analytics to engineering workflows.

Responsibilities

• Develop and integrate advanced thermal, vapor, and ALD etch processes for next-generation DRAM.
• Lead feasibility studies, investigations, and root-cause analyses to resolve process challenges.
• Drive process roadmaps, readiness, and yield improvements to meet programs.
• Collaborate with Process Integration, equipment development, and vendors on solutions.
• Contribute to IP development and evaluate emerging technologies.
