Job description

What you can expect

As a Lead UX Writer on Zoomʼs product design team, you will play a crucial role in leading content strategy and elevating the content standards across our suite of products. This hands-on leadership position will significantly impact the user experience by establishing processes, standards, and strategy for the UX Writing and product design team. Additionally, you will create and educate product and design partners on content guidelines and best practices for crafting microcopy. Together with a skilled team, you will elevate the user experience through content, ensuring interactions are intuitive, clear, and engaging.

Join Zoomʼs UX Writing team, where we craft scalable, cross-platform copy solutions for consistent user experiences. We work closely with our design and product partners to deeply understand user needs and craft content that guides and delights our users. Our team works with designers to address complex design challenges and create impactful experiences that inspire millions of users worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Leading the strategic vision and advancing the UX Writing discipline at Zoom.
  • Applying systems thinking to drive improved UX writing outcomes for users.
  • Coaching writers, designers, and product partners to ensure consistent and cohesive experiences.
  • Conducting writing reviews and providing constructive feedback to junior team members.
  • Hosting training sessions to scale content strategy across design, product, and engineering.
  • Demonstrating expertise in content strategy, operations, and effective communications.
  • Defining content testing strategy in partnership with the UX Research team.
  • Collaborating with the Design Systems team to maintain and create up-to-date content guidelines.

What we’re looking for

  • Possess extensive experience in a content strategy role, demonstrating a deep understanding of industry best practices and proven success in developing effective content strategies.
  • Be able to create and deliver content strategy for multiple products and teams.
  • Be able to coach and lead other UX Writers and designers through critiques and trainings.
  • Have facilitation and leadership skills to work across multiple teams and bridge gaps between product areas.
  • Be experienced in design systems and creating common content patterns and guidelines.
  • Have an impressive portfolio showcasing content strategy and UX writing skills.
  • Demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.

Salary Range or On Target Earnings:

Minimum: $146,700.00

Maximum: $339,300.00

In addition to the base salary and/or OTE listed, Zoom has a Total Direct Compensation philosophy that takes into consideration base salary, bonus, and equity value.

Note: Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience.

We also have a location-based compensation structure; there may be a different range for candidates in this and other locations.
