Job summary

Riverside Insights is seeking an experienced UX/UI Designer to lead the end-to-end design of the Reach platform, shaping the next generation of portfolio assessments like CogAT and the Iowa Assessments. You will work with Engineering, Product, and Psychometrics to define a ground-up UX framework, then own it post-launch.

You will build a scalable design system from day one, craft high-fidelity visuals, and ensure WCAG-compliant, responsive interfaces for students, educators, and administrators.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of experience in product, UX, or UI design.
• Founding or lead designer on a 0-to-1 or greenfield build.
• Strong UX research methods and ability to translate findings into specs.
• Experience building and maintaining a design system or component library.
• Proficiency in Figma (or comparable) for flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes.
• Experience designing for multi-role, data-heavy interfaces (dashboards, reports).
• Knowledge of WCAG accessibility standards and responsive design.
• Comfortable operating with ambiguity and limited existing structure.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end UX strategy for Reach from a blank slate.
• Lead user research and discovery with students, educators, and administrators.
• Translate research into flows, task flows, and interaction models.
• Build wireframes and interactive prototypes for testing.
• Define information architecture for a multi-role platform.
• Turn assessment data into clear, actionable displays for educators.
• Design onboarding and in-product guidance for users.
• Establish and track UX success metrics to inform roadmap.
