Job summary

Arizona State University is seeking a Utility Piping Specialist to assist with steam infrastructure and to install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems across the Tempe campus and other locations as needed.

The role requires extensive experience in plumbing and mechanical-pipefitting, with strong knowledge of codes and safety procedures. Training may involve 6:30am–3:00pm shifts with potential 4-10s, and occasional travel to other campus sites.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma and 3 years of plumbing/mechanical-pipefitting experience or equivalent.
• Knowledge of ASME/ASTM standards and ability to read drawings and work orders.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain plumbing and utility piping systems.
• Perform complex and precision soldering/brazing on piping and components.
• Inspect mechanical system components and verify with drawings and specifications.
• Install steam and condensate lines, steam traps, and pressure reducing valves.
• Maintain chilled water lines and domestic water/drain lines.
