Job summary

Line Quest, LLC seeks a detail-oriented Locator to join our field team. The Locate Technician will identify and mark underground utilities and infrastructure to support safe excavation and construction.

Candidates should work independently outdoors, communicate clearly with contractors, and maintain accurate locate records while following safety guidelines. You will operate locating equipment, interpret maps and blueprints, and respond to locate requests within tight timeframes to ensure project

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training is a plus.
• Experience in utility locating or construction preferred.
• Familiarity with underground utility systems and locating equipment.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Locate and mark underground utilities such as gas, water, electric, and telecom lines using specialized equipment.
• Interpret maps, blueprints, and technical drawings to identify utility locations.
• Communicate effectively with contractors, utility companies, and stakeholders to coordinate locating activities.
• Maintain accurate records of located utilities and provide detailed reports.
• Ensure safety regulations and company policies are followed during locating activities.
• Perform routine maintenance and calibration of locating equipment.
• Respond promptly to locate requests and complete assignments within designated timeframes.
