Job summary

The City of Naples is seeking a skilled Utilities Lead to supervise crews in installing, repairing, and maintaining water distribution and wastewater collection systems. You will coordinate materials, supervise repairs, and ensure safety practices across sites.

Applicants should have a high school diploma, Florida Water Distribution/Wastewater Technician Class A certification (or ability to obtain within one year), and a valid CDL Class A with air brakes and tanker endorsement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required and a Florida certification or license may apply.
• Water Distribution or Wastewater Collection Technician Class A certification must be obtained within one year.
• CDL Class A with Air Brakes and Tanker endorsement is required for water distribution/wastewater work.
• Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered.
• Maintain driving record meeting City standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate utilities crews in installation, repair, and maintenance of water distribution and wastewater collection systems.
• Coordinate materials, stock, and crew transportation per work orders.
• Perform and supervise repairs of leaks, main breaks, valves, hydrants, and related devices.
• Oversee pre- and post-inspection of vehicles and equipment; maintain logs.
• Ensure site safety, provide training to new technicians, and manage traffic control.
