Job summary

City of Naples seeks a skilled supervisor to oversee the operations, construction, maintenance and repair of the water distribution system. The role includes meter installation, main repairs, and utility locating, with hands-on leadership across crews.

You will plan work orders with developers and engineers, allocate manpower, conduct on-site safety training, and ensure compliance with safety standards. On-call emergencies and budget monitoring are also part of the position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current Water Distribution Technician Class A certification.
• Five years of lead-person experience in water distribution work.
• Valid Florida driver license, class B, with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate field activities for water distribution system construction, maintenance and repair.
• Plan and organize work orders with developers, contractors, and engineers.
• Coordinate manpower allocation and crew scheduling.
• Investigate accidents and customer concerns on site.
• Prepare and monitor operations budget within authority.
• Provide on-site training and operate required equipment.
• Ensure safety training and compliance for crews.
• Write equipment specifications and liaise with vendors.
• Inspect equipment, vehicles, and inventory.
• Review records and reports (budgets, water usage, tests).
• Adjust work methods to complete work orders.
• Respond to emergencies in an on-call capacity.
