Job summary

Baltimore County Government seeks a Utilities Supervisor II to oversee major sections within the Bureau of Utilities. Under general supervision, you will plan, coordinate, and direct construction, repair, and maintenance of water and sewer systems and related facilities.

The role requires seven years of relevant experience with at least three years in a supervisory capacity, plus the ability to develop policies and manage budgets across the section.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with seven years' experience in construction, repair, and maintenance of public utility systems.
• Three years of supervisory experience is required.
• Additional experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
• Additional education in engineering, management, or related field may substitute on a year-for-year basis for non-supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates, and directs a major section of the Bureau of Utilities.
• Plans, develops, and implements administrative and operational policies, procedures, and practices for the section.
• Reviews plans and blueprints for utilities construction and repair projects.
• Assists in developing and administering the section's operating budget.
• Coordinates section activities with other sections and meets with homeowners to resolve issues regarding water and sewer operations.
