A leading insurance group is seeking a Lead Underwriting Quality Assurance Auditor in Sun Prairie, WI. This role involves leading audits for large accounts, ensuring compliance with underwriting standards, and improving performance. The Opportunity:
In this role, you will lead the underwriting quality assurance audit for assigned large complex accounts to provide underwriting with quality audits containing accurate individual risk classification and exposure information to meet corporate profitability and retention objectives. You will be responsible for planning the audit strategy to achieve desired outcomes, leading the audit and analysis of policies, and identifying opportunities to improve account performance and underwriter performance in order to meet underwriting standards and objectives.
• Location: Sun Prairie, WI highly preferred, but will consider Chicago, IL, New York, NY, or Atlanta, GA
• Work Arrangement: This role is a hybrid role, requiring 2-3 days/week in the office
• The starting salary range for this role is between $103,000-$194,000
Your New Role:
• Plan, lead and conduct regularly scheduled underwriting quality control reviews for large accounts by auditing and analyzing policies and developing reports to communicate issues and ensure alignment with organizational underwriting guidelines
•Develop and execute tailored approaches for conducting audits to meet immediate needs for high-risk areas
•Oversee underwriting quality within assigned area of responsibility by identifying rate and/or other underwriting issues, communicating and escalating to business/product leaders and collaboratively identifying solutions to promote alignment with business growth and profitability objectives
•Contribute to the development of the overall business strategy for audit department for assigned accounts
•Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders by ensuring audits are completed timely and accurately, understanding the needs and demands of stakeholders during the audit process, sharing knowledge and expertise and regularly communicating and reporting internal audit findings
•Contribute to the development of improvement initiatives by considering audit findings, data and other learnings to identify trends in order to recommend solutions and increase underwriting adherence to organizational standards and guidelines
•Provide ongoing assistance with improvement initiatives by ensuring remediation and participating in follow-up activities to facilitate continued alignment with team recommendations for improving book of business
•Effectively manage audit resources to utmost efficiency to improve business lines profitability, monitor progress, and report regularly
•Provide technical guidance to customers to enhance quality and promote relationships
Required Education
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience
Required Experience
• 8 years relevant experience

Preferred Education Specifics
• Business, insurance, or related field
Preferred Experience
• Underwriting and/or underwriting audit experience experience with Management Liability and Professional Liability
Preferred Licenses/Certifications
• Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) or Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) or Registered Professional Liability Underwriter (RPLU) preferred but not required
Preferred Knowledge
• Comprehensive knowledge of underwriting audit principles and procedures
•Advanced working knowledge of laws and regulations relevant to underwriting standards, processes and procedures
•Advanced working knowledge of organizational underwriting guidelines and standards
•Knowledge of Management Liability and Professional Liability lines
•Familiarity with Commercial Casualty insurance
Compensation Package: The salary range for this role is provided above. This is the national range for location(s) listed. The salary offer will be decided based on the role's complexity, its location, and the candidate’s professional background, including their education and experience.
