Lewis & Tibbitts, Inc. is seeking an experienced Wet Utility Superintendent to lead on-site field operations for underground construction projects in the Bay Area.

You will direct crews, coordinate planning, ensure safety and quality, and uphold the company’s safety culture across all tasks. The role requires hands-on leadership, strong knowledge of trenching and shoring, and adherence to project plans, schedules, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Underground utility construction methods across trenching, shoring, piping, backfill and restoration.
• Knowledge of OSHA and Cal/OSHA safety standards with emphasis on high-risk SIF controls.
• Ability to read and interpret civil plans and specifications in the field.
• Experience with heavy equipment operations and material quality standards.
• California public works, prevailing-wage, union and agency inspection familiarity.

Responsabilités

• Direct supervision of field crews, foremen, and on-site subcontractors to ensure efficient daily workflow.
• Develop and execute daily/weekly work plans aligned with project schedules and site safety.
• Monitor productivity, identify inefficiencies, and implement corrective actions to maintain budget and schedule.
• Lead safety briefings, enforce PPE usage, and ensure compliance with safety policies and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate daily reports, timecards, equipment logs, and delivery tickets.
• Coordinate with project stakeholders and participate in meetings with clear field updates.
