Job summary

Kinross Gold Corporation seeks a Chief Engineer to lead the underground mining engineering team at the Kettle River Operations. The role oversees design, planning, and execution to meet production and cost goals while ensuring health, safety, and environmental standards.

You will develop short- and long-term mine plans, coordinate with geology, production, safety and environmental teams, and deliver performance reports. Strong leadership and project management are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mine Engineering or equivalent.
• 8+ years of mine engineering experience, underground production preferred.
• 4+ years in a supervisory role with team leadership.
• Experience coordinating study phases, basic and detailed engineering.
• Knowledge of long-hole mining in complex geology.
• Familiar with rock mechanics, drill and blast, ventilation, and site cost control.
• Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and manage projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering team for design, planning and execution of underground mining.
• Develop and control mine plans and schedules to meet goals.
• Provide technical support to operations and project groups.
• Coordinate with geology, production, environment and safety for aligned objectives.
• Prepare reports on performance, safety, and compliance audits.
• Mentor engineers and foster continuous improvement.
