Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking a Lead Airworthiness (AW) & Safety Engineer to guide airworthiness and product safety activities for complex Unmanned Aircraft Systems across the product lifecycle. You will develop certification strategies, plan requirements, and coordinate with regulatory authorities to support flight releases and continued airworthiness.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 8+ years of directly related experience
• Minimum 4 years of airworthiness-related work
• Strong systems engineering background and cross-functional collaboration

Responsibilities

• Develops airworthiness and product safety plans and strategies
• Supports certification activities for complex UAS across lifecycle
• Coordinates with cross-functional teams to meet certification requirements
• Interacts with military and civil airworthiness authorities for certification
• Leads airworthiness efforts with broad cross-functional teams
• Supports RFIs and RFPs in airworthiness and product safety
