Job summary

Scion Nonprofit Staffing seeks a Lead Tutor & Education Coordinator for a Chicago-based nonprofit providing individualized academic support and programs to underserved students and families. The role is direct-hire, fully onsite with later hours during the school year, guiding tutors and overseeing tutoring sessions to strengthen student learning plans.

The ideal candidate is an experienced K–12 educator who can mentor staff, manage classroom operations, and adapt to an active learning

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience in education or a K-12 setting.
Experience leading classrooms, mentoring tutors, and coordinating learning activities.
Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

Lead daily tutoring operations and manage materials, schedules, and learning plans.
Mentor tutors, coach instructional strategies, and support individualized student goals.
Maintain documentation and participate in meetings and events beyond regular hours.
