Job summary

Big Wave Digital - USA is seeking a lead technologist to shape architecture for major initiatives, writing design documents grounded in business needs and guiding AI coding agents in production.

You will own the reliability of large distributed systems, mentor engineers, and partner with product teams on trade-offs. Strong communication and 5–15 years of product engineering are prized; US citizenship or Green Card required without sponsorship.

Qualifications

• Requires expert-level TypeScript and Node.js experience.
• Hands-on production use of AI coding agents.
• Substantial experience with distributed messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Candidates should have 5–15 years in product engineering, have owned a major system or product area, and be strong communicators.
• US citizenship or a Green Card is required, with no sponsorship or visa transfers.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical design and architecture for major initiatives, including writing design documents and making decisions grounded in business needs.
• Direct and rigorously review AI coding agents.
• Own the reliability of high-volume distributed systems.
• Mentor engineers and partner with product teams on trade-offs.
