Job summary

Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC seeks a Trimmer/Climber Foreperson to lead daily crew operations, oversee safety and training, and coordinate with management and property owners. The role emphasizes field leadership, incident reporting, and cost control while maintaining high safety and service standards.

The position is full-time, non-exempt, with union wage scale and comprehensive local benefits. Excellent communication, organization, and driving capability are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Understands drawings and symbols for lines, voltages, and equipment.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
• Able to work with hands above head.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Plans, coordinates, and assigns daily work for the crew after orders from a General Foreperson/Supervisor.
• Conducts field training/retraining for crew members.
• Enforces safe work practices per OSHA and company policies and trains accordingly.
• Communicates issues with property owners/customers and refers complex cases as needed.
• Obtains permission from property owners to perform work.
• Maintains customer relations through effective completion of tasks and professional crew conduct.
• Investigates incidents or minor damage claims and communicates outcomes.
• Keeps accurate crew records, timesheets, and reports on work performed.
• Manages crew costs through optimal use of personnel and equipment.
• Reports orders completed, units of work, crew time, and repairs as required.
• Submit periodic reports on incidents, truck breakdowns, and related matters.
• Cooperates with customers, police, and fire departments when blocking streets or driveways.
• Sets up barriers and safety measures to protect crew and the public.
• Keeps tools and trucks in good repair and ensures safety compliance.
