Job summary

Seattle Parks and Recreation is seeking a skilled Tree Trimmer, Lead to guide field crews in arboriculture operations and support urban forest preservation across Seattle's parks and facilities.

Successful candidates will demonstrate leadership, knowledge of tree care, and the ability to supervise crews while maintaining safety and quality standards, including adherence to ANSI and WA regulations.

Qualifications

• Two years' experience in urban forestry, landscape maintenance, tree farming, or tree trimming.
• One year of experience directing and leading the work of others.
• Combinations of education, training, and experience will be evaluated for comparability.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct a tree crew, assign tasks, and ensure efficiency.
• Prune and remove trees to enhance public safety and tree health.
• Coach and train new hires on arboriculture safety, equipment use, and ANSI standards.
• Arrange for equipment maintenance and vehicle inspections.
• Ensure crew compliance with safety policies and procedures.
• Respond to emergencies and prune/remove hazard trees as needed.
• Maintain and operate field equipment and use ArcGIS for inventory data.
