Job summary

SavATree is seeking a Tree Climber to join our General Tree Care Team. You’ll perform pruning, removals, and cabling with a focus on health and beauty of client landscapes while applying safety standards.

The role requires climbing proficiency, operation of chainsaws and aerial lifts, and strict adherence to safety. A valid U.S. driver’s license and work authorization are required to support a responsive, safety-driven team environment.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license; CDL a plus.
• Experience with pruning large shade trees and ornamentals.
• Knowledge of tree and shrub species and their traits.
• Comfortable climbing without spurs; adheres to safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality tree care services, including pruning, removals, and cabling for trees and shrubs.
• Climb trees safely using proper techniques, ropes, saddle, and ladders.
• Operate chainsaws, aerial lifts (bucket trucks), and other tree care equipment effectively.
• Apply ANSI A300 Pruning Standards and ANSI Z safety practices in all tasks.
• Ensure proper pruning cuts and techniques, preserving tree health and structure.
• Assist in tree removals and use ropes or spikes for safe takedowns as needed.
• Identify hazards and perform safety checks before, during, and after each job.
• Perform aerial rescues when necessary, ensuring safety in high-risk situations.
• Maintain strong communication with team members and clients to ensure safety and service quality.
• Take ownership of your role, contributing to a positive, safety-focused team culture.
