Job Summary and Qualifications

The Lead Patient Transporter oversees daily workflow and manages transport staff, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of patients and supplies across the hospital. Responsibilities include operating and maintaining transport devices and support equipment, and training staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure patient privacy.
• Report any abuse concerns.
• Train staff on PATRA software and proper use of transport equipment.
• Use department key words: SAFETY, CONCERN, CARE, and COMFORT during interactions.
• Monitor workflow efficiency and customer service skills.
• Participate in quality improvement and adhere to behavioral standards.

Qualifications

• Certification in BLS or BCLS from Red Cross or AHA. Crisis Prevention Intervention training within 3 months.
• Preferred: 6 months transporting experience in an acute care hospital.
