Job summary

The City of Dallas is seeking a Project Manager - Traffic Signals to oversee and manage transportation contracts and projects, coordinating logistics, budgets, schedules, and staff to deliver high-quality results for the city.

Responsibilities include guiding traffic signal design, studies, and timing, ensuring compliance with contracts, and fostering collaboration across departments to meet timelines and city goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering field.
• Five (5) years of experience in traffic engineering including managing projects from conception to completion.
• Professional Engineer License; Texas license within six months after appointment.

Responsibilities

• Manages, coordinates, and facilitates all transportation projects and activities for the City of Dallas; monitors construction and installation activities, provides assistance, and manages project scope and completion.
• Tracks and oversees the implementation of transportation department objectives and contracts; makes and monitors schedules, manages budget and funding, communicates scope of work related to contracts and objectives, and moves the project to completion.
• Learns and implements new processes and procedures to enhance and support the transportation goals of the City; participates in professional development and program management to ensure highly skilled project management
• Proactively manages, monitors, and plans transportation project budgets; determines labor, general expenses, and contract requirements.
• Reviews, processes, and handles internal requests for the transportation department for meetings, documents, and project updates.
• Researches, plans, designs, specifies, and communicates project goals and objectives; fosters collaboration and communication to achieve desired outcome and manages projects through completion.
• Provides direction for other staff involved in transportation projects and initiatives.
• Performs any and all other work as needed or assigned.
