Job summary

Barge Design Solutions, Inc. seeks a Traffic Project Engineer in Nashville, TN to contribute to traffic signal design, analyses, and written reports. You will work with a team to deliver infrastructure solutions that benefit communities.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's in engineering, 5+ years of traffic engineering, and a registered PE. Familiarity with Synchro, HCS, SIDRA, and OpenRoads is preferred. On-site role with opportunities to collaborate across TDOT/NDOT procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited engineering program.
  • 5+ years of traffic engineering and design experience.
  • Registered PE.
  • Knowledge of capacity analysis software such as Synchro 12, HCS, SIDRA, etc.
  • Knowledge of Bentley OpenRoads Designer a plus.
  • Experience with TDOT procedures, policies and standards a plus.
  • Experience with NDOT procedures, policies and standards a plus.

  • Assists in project scope, budget and schedule development.
  • Supports PM providing technical knowledge on various projects.
  • Prepares and reviews engineering specifications, documents, drawings, etc. to produce various deliverables.
  • Mentors and reviews work of technicians and more junior staff.
  • Collaborate with project team members, client representatives, and review agencies to help resolve challenges.
  • Participate in client and stakeholder meetings, as appropriate.
  • Conducts on-site visits, as appropriate.
  • Performs other duties as requested.

What We're Looking For:

Barge Design Solutions, Inc. is seeking a motivated Traffic Project Engineer to join our growing team in Nashville, TN. In this role, you will take an active part in delivering meaningful infrastructure solutions that directly impact the communities we serve. You will be responsible for traffic signal design, traffic engineering analysis, technical writing, and the preparation of memos and reports.

Responsibilities:
  • Assists in project scope, budget and schedule development.
  • Supports PM providing technical knowledge on various projects.
  • Prepares and reviews engineering specifications, documents, drawings, etc. to produce various deliverables.
  • Mentors and reviews work of technicians and more junior staff.
