Job summary

Thomas & Hutton is seeking a transportation engineer to lead roadway and corridor design projects in the Southeast, collaborating with clients and multidisciplinary teams on challenging roadway and transportation design tasks.

The role offers ownership of projects, exposure to permitting with FDOT, GDOT, and other agencies, and opportunities to grow with mentorship and Best Place to Work culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
• PE license required.
• 5+ years of transportation engineering and roadway design experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform transportation design for roadway, intersection, and corridor improvement projects.
• Prepare engineering calculations, roadway plans, quantity estimates, technical reports, and construction documents.
• Lead permitting efforts with FDOT, GDOT, and other agencies.
• Develop technical specifications and bid documents.
• Manage project tasks to meet scope, schedule, and quality goals.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams throughout project delivery.
• Perform construction administration activities including site visits and coordination with contractors.
• Utilize MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, GEOPAK, and InRoads to develop transportation designs.
