FirstEnergy Service Co. is seeking an experienced Transmission Planning Engineer to lead a team of engineers responsible for the planning and reliability of transmission and subtransmission systems across FE's service area.

The role focuses on generation and load interconnections and developing capital projects. You will coordinate with PJM, RFC, and NERC, supervise staff, and ensure compliance with planning criteria.

Competenze

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program is required; PE license preferred.
• Professional Engineer license is preferred; higher degrees may be considered.
• Minimum of 5 years of related work experience in transmission planning or similar.
• Experience with power system analysis software is expected.

Mansioni

• Provide technical leadership to engineers on transmission and subtransmission projects.
• Ensure timely completion of studies and compliance with NERC, PJM, and FE planning criteria.
• Develop projects with cost justification and present to leadership and stakeholders.
• Provide technical testimony and responses to regulatory inquiries as assigned.
• Coordinate with industry groups (NERC, RFC, PJM) and external entities.
• Support operations during critical events and storms as needed.
