Job summary

K&A Engineering in Orange, Connecticut, seeks a Lead Transmission Engineer to lead transmission line design for capital projects, and to drive routing strategy using PLSCAD, with EPC/Mega project background.

Requires a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from an ABET program, 10+ years in substation/transmission, and local CT residency. PE preferred; in-office role based in CT.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program.
• 10+ years of electrical engineering experience within substation or transmission.
• Perform engineering responsibilities without assistance and minimal supervision.
• Must have strong experience working on EPC Projects or Megal Projects.
• Strong knowledge in standard engineering techniques and procedures.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced team members.
• Regularly meet and correspond with clients or outside personnel.
• Support business development and marketing initiatives.
• Strong attention to detail, team building, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving.
• PE license highly preferred
• In Office- Must be local to Connecticut

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Lead Transmission Engineer to join our team at K&A Engineering in Orange, Connecticut. • Detailed estimate and probability modeling
• Other studies as required to complete the projects
• Lead overall transmission line design for all capital projects
• Review/Design transmission line plan and profile drawings using PLSCAD to ensure compliance with the client’s TM standards and NESC/other standards
• Drive the project plan for transmission line routing and strategy, specifically:
  • Decide whether to rebuild existing lines or obtain additional right of way based on area congestion and local politics/permitting issues
  • Determine required structure designs based on design constraints
  • Determine routing in and around into congested stations to optimize design/reliability and minimize the number of crossings

What we are looking for:

Pay Range: $115,000-$120,000/annually
