Job summary

Sound Transit is seeking a senior cost estimator to prepare total construction cost estimates across design stages for large transit projects. You will integrate scope, schedule, and costs to support budgeting and informed decision-making.

The role requires advanced knowledge of estimating, risk assessment, and project controls, with experience in ICEs, bid preparation, and maintaining cost databases. You will mentor staff and collaborate across agencies in a hybrid Seattle-based role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or closely related field.
• Five years of experience in developing project and construction cost estimates with risk assessment, project control, and cost database development and reporting.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare total cost estimates using preliminary design criteria and narrative information.
• Prepare detailed ICE estimates for construction changes.
• Coordinate with design groups and field teams to verify scope and conditions.
• Develop cost impact analyses and compare with cost trends.
• Mentor junior staff and coordinate with consultants and project teams.
