Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field with traffic signal operation training.
• Minimum of four (4) years engineering experience in Public Works or Traffic Engineering.
• Minimum of one (1) year supervisory experience.
• Ability to supervise staff and coordinate with county staff, BOCC, contractors and private citizens.

Responsibilities

• Directs and coordinates a multi-discipline staff of technicians and project managers for complex traffic engineering projects.
• Leads project management for complex, highly technical traffic engineering projects; ensures on-time, on-budget completion.
• Reviews plans and specifications and ensures compliance with County Standards.
• Conducts traffic studies, field surveys, and data collection to evaluate development impacts.
• Maintains traffic signal system operations, timings, and related data.
• Develops and updates multi-year capital improvement plans for roadway and signal upgrades.
• Coordinates with FDOT, consultants, and other agencies; communicates with the public and Board.
