Job summary

Burgess & Niple is seeking a Traffic Engineer PE in Dallas, TX to own full project lifecycles across traffic studies, signals, and ITS design for state DOTs and municipalities. You will mentor junior engineers, ensure quality, schedule, and budget, and engage with clients to support firm growth.

The role requires a BS in Civil Engineering from an ABET program, PE (or reciprocity) with PTOE preferred, and 4–10 years of traffic design experience.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BS in Civil Engineering is required.
• PE registration in the employing state or reciprocity, PTOE preferred.
• 4–10 years of traffic design experience for state/municipal clients.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day production of traffic design projects for state DOTs and local municipalities.
• Lead and develop project deliverables with the project team to meet objectives and schedules.
• Lead traffic studies and capacity analysis projects.
• Prepare and review cost estimates for traffic components.
• Manage project drawings using MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
• Maintain quality control of plans, specs, and deliverables.
• Mentor junior engineers and support business development and client communications.
