Job summary

The Boeing Company in Berkeley, MO seeks an Experienced Tooling Engineer to lead the design, development, installation and sustainment of complex production tooling and fixtures. You’ll provide technical leadership across programs, mentor engineers, and drive continuous improvement for safety, quality, cost and schedule.

You will define tooling requirements with design, manufacturing, and suppliers; manage tolerances and GD&T, and ensure producibility.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or related field; manufacturing tooling knowledge required.
• Advanced proficiency with 3D CAD and producing detailed tooling docs.
• Deep knowledge of GD&T, tolerances, manufacturing processes, inspection, and metrology.
• Proven experience leading cross-functional teams with suppliers, production, quality, and design.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, qualification, and release of tooling, jigs, fixtures and automated tooling systems.
• Define tooling requirements and translate into specs, 3D models, drawings and BOMs.
• Oversee tolerance stack-ups, GD&T assessments, and validation plans.
• Provide technical leadership for tooling fabrication, installation, and supplier oversight.
• Drive root cause analysis for tooling-related issues and standardize best practices.
