Job summary

YWCA Lancaster is seeking a full-time Early Childcare Lead Teacher to join our team. The role involves planning age-appropriate activities, creating a nurturing environment, and ensuring compliance with licensing and program standards.

You will develop lesson plans across core domains and supervise assistants, while fostering collaboration with parents and staff to advance the center’s mission of eliminating racism and empowering women.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s or associate’s degree in early childhood, child development, or a related human services field.
• Two years’ experience related to caring for and developing children birth to three.

Responsibilities

• Develop plans for age-appropriate activities to provide a consistent daily routine.
• Create a nurturing environment for all children to support physical, emotional, and intellectual growth.
• Ensure licensing and regulatory compliance with DPW, Keystone STARS, Pre-K Counts, and CACFP.
• Develop lesson plans aligned with Language Arts, Math, Science, Cognitive Development, Creative Art, Self Help, and Motor Activities.
• Lead and supervise assistants in daily activities and maintain a positive classroom atmosphere.
• Hold parent/teacher conferences twice a year.
