Job summary

The University of Dubuque is seeking a full-time Lead Childcare Teacher to create a nurturing, developmentally appropriate program for toddlers. Plan daily activities aligned with the Creative Curriculum, guide assistants, and foster a welcoming environment that celebrates diversity.

Candidates should have an associate degree (graduate degree preferred), current First Aid/CPR/Mandatory Reporting training preferred or obtainable after employment, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Associate degree required; graduate degree preferred.
• Experience working with children required.
• Ability to obtain First Aid/CPR/Mandatory Reporting certifications after employment.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Flexible schedule preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan daily activities and post weekly lesson plans based on Creative Curriculum.
• Maintain a clean, safe, organized classroom and respond to emergencies.
• Support development across cognitive, social, emotional, and physical domains.
• Communicate with parents about child progress and concerns.
• Mentor assistant teachers and staff to develop their skills.
• Foster diversity and inclusive, welcoming learning environment.
• Perform other duties in support of the University's mission.
