Job summary

Acquire4Hire in Virginia is seeking a dedicated Toddler 2 classroom teacher to support 2–3 year olds in a safe, nurturing learning space.

You will plan engaging activities, guide potty training, and promote independence through self-help skills while maintaining daily routines and strong family communication.

Requirements include 1 year in a licensed childcare setting, ability to work 35+ hours weekly, and a willingness to participate in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in licensed childcare for toddlers.
• Ability to work at least 35 hours per week.
• Experience with 2–3 year olds preferred and knowledge of toddler development.
• Willingness to support potty training and self-help skills.
• Ability to create and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate activities.
• Strong classroom management and positive behavior guidance.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Dependable, punctual, and professional.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for 2–3 year olds.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate lessons and daily activities supporting cognitive and social development.
• Guide potty training and self-help skills with consistency and patience.
• Encourage independence in self-feeding, dressing, hand washing, and routines.
• Supervise children indoors and outdoors, ensuring safety at all times.
• Maintain attendance, reports, and classroom documentation using Brightwheel.
• Communicate progress and concerns with families professionally.
• Model positive behavior and foster social skills.
• Prepare and serve snacks following food safety guidelines.
• Keep the classroom clean, organized, and sanitized.
• Collaborate with staff to maintain ratios and smooth daily operations.
• Participate in staff meetings and ongoing professional development.
