Position Description:
Toddler Teacher
Early Head Start, South Kingstown
Full-time (40 Hours per week) Full Year

General Responsibility: Oversee the daily operations of an Early Head Start classroom and provide the children, ages 18 months to 3 years, with an educational program that is conducive to optimal development.

Specific Responsibilities:
Be knowledgeable about developmentally appropriate practices and the Head Start Performance Standards, plan according to the individual needs of each child, complete education paperwork, conduct developmental assessments, document assessment data in the web-based data management system, conduct daily observations of children, encourage family engagement in the program, conduct home visits per the Performance Standards, maintain a safe and healthy environment, provide Responsive Caregiving to all children, and promote the school readiness of children and families in the program.

Qualifications:
Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education (preferred) or Infant/Toddler CDA. Rhode Island Early Learning and Development Standards certificate preferred.

Special Qualifications:
Applicants must be skilled in building positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues. Experience is a must. Demonstrate an understanding of everyone’s experiences, every day, ensuring the delivery of services that recognizes and respects that every moment matters.

This is a full-time, full-year position located at our Wakefield site. A 6-hour Early Head Start classroom. Staff hours are 8:00-4:30.
