The Early Head Start Lead Toddler Teacher must be professionally prepared and qualified to work with very young children and their families. They must have knowledge of infant/toddler development, Head Start Program Performance Standards, and supervisory skills. The Lead Toddler Teacher must be able to provide activities that promote social-emotional, physical, and intellectual growth.
Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Location: On-Site
Hourly Rate of Pay: $17.43

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
As directed by the Early Head Start Coordinator supervises classroom education staff. Is responsible for the day-to-day routine operation of the center as approved by the Early Head Start Coordinator. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include assisting with training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
A minimum of a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or comparable credential, and have been trained or have equivalent coursework in early childhood development with a focus on infant/toddler development. Associates in Early Childhood Education preferred.

The employee frequently is required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally required to work in close proximity to moving vehicles, chemicals used for cleaning and sanitizing. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
