Job summary

Chesapeake Montessori is seeking a Lead Teacher to support toddlers with a developmentally appropriate curriculum and a nurturing learning environment. The role emphasizes individualized attention, safety, and strong family communication.

Chesapeake Montessori is a licensed childcare center seeking a Lead Teacher to support the following age groups:

• Toddlers

To be qualified for this position, we require a Bachelor's degree, Montessori Training, or an applicant who is in the process of obtaining certification as well as classroom experience.

Required Shift: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm

Compensation: $17- $18 an hour based on experience and education

Our Hiring Process:

Main Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare lesson plans that are developmentally appropriate one week in advance using current curriculum guides.
• Implement lesson plans/curriculum on a weekly basis covering all areas of child development and carry out lesson plans according to classroom schedule/daily routine; Use our parent communication app efficiently.
• Establish a professional level of rapport with each family to provide quality care for the children.
• Responsible for the safety and well-being of each child, responding to their emotional needs; and maintaining an organized, clean, safe, and appropriately decorated classroom.
• Maintain a child assessment and portfolio for each child, as well as conduct biannual parent/teacher conferences during the month of November and May.
• Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.
• Carry out the daily responsibilities of the classroom relating to the care of the children.
