Job summary

NSG Group/Pilkington is seeking a research professional to design and model multi-layer coatings for optical and electrical properties. You will investigate processing-structure-property relations for coating electrical properties and develop experimental plans for CVD lab depositions.

The role involves evaluating coating performance across lab, trial, and production samples, interpreting results for technical and commercial teams, and collaborating with global technology centers.

Qualifications

• PhD or MS in applied physics, materials science or related field.
• Experience with thin films for semiconductor or photovoltaic applications.
• Experience with measurement/analysis of thin films (XRD, XPS, SEM/TEM, spectrophotometry, TOF-SIMS, AFM, etc.)
• Experience with statistical tools and analysis.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
• Proficient in English (verbal and written).
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally (15%).

• Design multi-layer coatings to achieve optical and electrical properties.
• Optically model multi-layer coatings to predict properties.
• Investigate processing-structure-property relationships related to coating electrical properties.
• Develop and oversee experimental plans for depositions in the CVD lab.
• Evaluate coating performance characteristics of lab, trial, and production samples.
