Job summary

The Carolina Center for Behavioral Health in Greenville, SC is seeking a Lead Therapist to provide therapeutic services to patients, including group therapy, crisis intervention, and treatment planning, supporting a team of inpatient therapists and case managers.

Qualifications include a Master's degree in social work, psychology, or mental health counseling, licensure, and 1–3 years in a psychiatric facility with experience in family and group therapies and crisis intervention.

• Licensure required.
• A minimum of 1-3 years of experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience in family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead therapeutic group sessions for diverse patient populations, including crisis stabilization, geriatric, adolescent, and adult behavioral health populations.
• Supervise and aid in the professional development of intern and practicum students.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation, including group notes and treatment updates.
• Provide support and leadership across the social services department in verbal de-escalation techniques.
• Educate patients on coping skills, symptom management, relapse prevention, stress reduction, and wellness strategies.
• Assist with discharge planning and continuity of care recommendations when appropriate.
