Job summary

Universal Health Services is seeking a Master’s level Group Therapist/Clinician to join its Carolina Center for Behavioral Health team. You will lead group sessions, coordinate care with an interdisciplinary team, and educate patients on coping skills and relapse prevention.

The role requires a Master’s degree in social work or psychology, with licensure preferred and at least two years in a psychiatric health care setting. Strong documentation and crisis intervention skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work, psychology, mental health counseling or related field.
• Licensure preferred.
• Minimum two years experience in a psychiatric health care facility.
• Experience facilitating therapeutic groups in inpatient, outpatient, or similar behavioral health settings.

Responsibilities

• Lead therapeutic group sessions for diverse patient populations, including crisis stabilization and adult behavioral health.
• Facilitate psychoeducational, process-oriented, and skills-based groups.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation, including group notes and treatment updates.
• Coordinate care with psychiatrists, nurses, therapists, case managers, and other team members.
• Educate patients on coping skills, relapse prevention, stress reduction, and wellness strategies.
• Foster engagement and meaningful participation among group members.
• Assist with discharge planning and continuity of care recommendations.
