The role requires strong leadership, training, and adherence to SOPs and CLIA regulations, with hands-on testing, equipment calibration, and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field with CFR 493.1489 credentials.
• 4+ years laboratory experience; 2+ years in lead/supervisor role; 1 year workflow coordination.
• MT/MLS ASCP certification; CLIA High Complexity Testing; state licensure where applicable.
• Strong knowledge of quality control, SOPs and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Hires, supervises, trains, and evaluates personnel.
• Leads and develops staff and supervises workflow.
• Supervises survey and proficiency testing and ensures timely completion.
• Conducts competency assessments and completes documentation.
• Provides routine and non-routine training; ensures training documentation.
• Ensures compliance with SOPs, regulations; escalates issues to management.
• Supervises routine testing of biological samples; reagent prep and QA.
• Maintains records; ensures confidentiality; timely release of results.
• Liaises with vendors and clients; provides direct customer service.
• Performs preventive maintenance and calibrations on equipment; troubleshooting.
• Participates in process improvement teams; performs other duties as assigned.
