Mercury Systems in Torrance, CA, is seeking a Lead Test Technician to join the Test Operations group. This hands-on role focuses on environmental and functional testing, troubleshooting fixtures, and driving lean initiatives in a fast-paced defense tech environment. Security clearance will be required.

The ideal candidate has strong electronics skills, experience with test scripts, and the ability to lead daily meetings while collaborating across labs to meet production schedules.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of environmental and functional testing experience (ESS, thermal cycling, vibration).
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience troubleshooting test fixtures and equipment.
• Strong electronics background with hand tool proficiency.
• Familiarity with ESD procedures and security clearance eligibility.
• Ability to work overtime as needed and lead daily meetings.

Job Summary:

Mercury Systems specializes in secure mission-critical technology for the military and defense. We are seeking a Lead Test Technician for our Test Operations group. This is a great opportunity for a "hands-on get-it-done" individual to contribute to the corporation's future growth. This position is in Torrance, CA.

Job Responsibilities:

• Participate in hardware review and help drive failure reviews.
• Collaborate with lab management to help cross-train team members on various test functions and hardware.
• Troubleshoot test fixtures, setups, and related equipment.
• Conduct environmental and functional testing, including ESS, thermal cycling, vibration, and electrical pre/post testing.
• Support 5S initiatives and promote lean manufacturing principles within the test area.
• Consistently meet or exceed production schedules and deadlines while maintaining high quality standards.
• Accurately complete logs, documentation, and forms in accordance with company policies and practices.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Required Qualifications:

• Typically requires 5-7 years of environmental and functional testing, including ESS, thermal cycling and vibrations.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience troubleshooting test fixtures, setups, and related equipment.
• Strong electronics background.
• Ability to work with various mechanical hand tools.
• Familiarity with ESD procedures.
• Ability to work overtime based on business demands.
• Must be able to obtain a security clearance upon hire.
• Comfortable leading daily meetings.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous leadership experience.
• Experience with Python, LabView or other automated test scripts preferred.

This position requires you to have or obtain a government security clearance. Security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.
