Job summary

VTG is seeking a Lead Test Engineer to support our customer. The role involves providing testing expertise for complex software and hardware, leading risk assessments, and directing test design and tooling decisions.

You will plan and execute environmental, operational, and performance tests across various systems, supervise engineering staff in test apparatus fabrication, and ensure results and documentation meet all standards. Travel 75%+ is required.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in a technical discipline with at least 10 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide testing expertise across complex software/hardware applications.
• Lead risk management activities and test design decisions.
• Ensure test design and documentation meet client and industry standards.
• Communicate testing status and deviations to project managers.
• Plan environmental, operational, or performance tests across diverse equipment.
• Direct engineering staff in fabrication of testing equipment.
• Coordinate testing activities and calibration of instruments.
• Resolve testing problems with cross-functional teams.
• Analyze and interpret test data; prepare technical reports.
