Job summary

Texas International Terminals (TXIT) is seeking a Terminal Safety Specialist to lead safety programs across our Texas facilities. You will develop policies, coordinate regulatory compliance, and drive incident investigations with root-cause analysis.

You will manage training, track corrective actions, and maintain documentation while staying audit-ready and ready for on-call emergency response as required.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related discipline, or relevant safety certifications.
• Ten or more years’ experience in Safety, Health, Environmental, and Security.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, USCG, and EPA rules and regulations.
• Effective organizational skills to prioritize within tight deadlines.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and TWIC.
• Must be available and flexible to work, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Promote a strong safety culture by maintaining visible field presence and engaging employees and contractors on safe work practices.
• Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies, procedures, and SOPs.
• Maintain readiness for regulatory inspections, audits, and agency interactions.
• Conduct routine safety inspections and hazard assessments across terminal operations.
• Lead investigations of incidents, near misses, and compliance events using root cause analysis.
• Manage safety tracking systems and track corrective actions through completion.
• Develop and deliver safety training programs and onboarding for employees and contractors.
• Monitor safety KPIs and report trends to leadership.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce incidents and strengthen compliance.
