Job summary

Lower Colorado River Authority in Texas seeks a Safety Specialist II to join the Safety Services Group- Transmission Operations. You will act as a liaison among field workers, management, contractors, and customers to continuously improve safety, integrating safety knowledge into daily operations.

You will lead safety training, conduct field inspections, audits, and incident investigations to strengthen compliance and operational excellence, and collaborate to develop practical safety solutions

Qualifications

• Six+ years of safety and health experience in utilities.
• Experience with ANSI, OSHA 1910/1926.269, IEEE C95.6-2002, DOT standards.
• Driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted safety partner to Transmission Operations teams to promote proactive risk prevention and continuous improvement.
• Lead safety training, orientations, and compliance initiatives with documentation.
• Conduct field inspections, audits, and incident investigations to strengthen safety, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.
• Collaborate with employees, contractors, and leadership to develop safety solutions, procedures, and standards.
• Support infrastructure projects by developing safety plans and traveling to substations, power plants, and other sites as needed.
