Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 years of tennis teaching experience.
  • Strong understanding of long-term athlete development and junior pathway programming.
  • Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • RSPA, PTR, USTA certifications preferred.

Job description

The Lead Tennis Professional plays a key role in running adult and youth programming of all levels. This person will support staff but also be able to work independently while serving as a positive ambassador for the facility and its mission.

  • Build and retain private lesson schedule.
  • Ability to lead and run adult and youth programming of all levels.
  • Familiar with organizing and moving 8 players on a court for 90 minutes or ability to adapt to this style of drill.
  • Dependable, organized and able to independently manage specialty programs.
  • Build strong relationships with players, parents, and community members.
  • Support special events, tournaments, exhibitions, and community outreach initiatives.
  • Assist the Head Tennis Professional with departmental projects and other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, holidays and weekends.
  • Must be 18 years old.
  • Minimum 6 years of tennis teaching experience.
  • Demonstrated success coaching juniors and adult players across multiple developmental levels.
  • Strong understanding of long-term athlete development and junior pathway programming.
  • Experience mentoring coaches or leading educational initiatives preferred.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • RSPA Elite or PTR certification preferred.
  • USTA 4.5 playing level or higher preferred.
  • Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • Specialty certifications required (RSPA, PTR, USTA)
  • Previous Director, Head Pro, Lead pro experience strongly preferred.

Work may take place in both indoor and outdoor environments, with exposure to varying weather conditions including sun, heat, cold, snow, and humidity. Noise levels range from moderate to loud, often due to active children, group interactions, or busy transportation settings.

Physical Activity(s):
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
  • Duties may require sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, crouching, bending, or stooping for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work most of the day on your feet, performing both active supervision and hands-on tasks.
  • Able to communicate effectively, including speaking loudly, when necessary, in noisy or outdoor environments.
