Job summary

Chippenham Hospital in Richmond, VA is seeking a Lead Telemetry Technician to monitor cardiac rhythms continuously and alert the care team to changes. You will mentor staff, train new teammates, and help ensure high-quality patient monitoring across shifts.

The role requires an EKG/Arrhythmia course completion, Monitor Tech exam, and 2 years of CMT/Telemetry experience. You will oversee equipment setup, lead placement, and maintain accurate monitoring records.

Qualifications

• Completion of basic EKG/Arrhythmia course and successful completion of Monitor Tech examination.
• Working knowledge of basic rhythms and arrhythmias.
• 2 year previous experience as CMT/Cardiac Tech or Monitor Tech.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring, interpreting, and documenting cardiac rhythms, and alerting nurses immediately to changes that may impact patient care
• Managing telemetry setup, lead placement, equipment upkeep, and inventory to ensure continuous, accurate monitoring
• Preparing and analyzing rhythm strips, updating logs, and maintaining patient monitoring records in line with hospital policies
• Guiding and mentoring telemetry staff by leading training, onboarding, and sharing updates on new tools or processes
• Enhancing patient safety by clearly communicating changes in rhythm, alarms, or signal issues
