Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University Health is seeking a Cardiac Monitor Technician to provide continuous observation, interpretation, and documentation of cardiac rhythms across pediatric to geriatric patients. The role involves preparing telemetry records and maintaining a functioning monitoring system, under RN guidance.

The position requires basic healthcare experience and a high school diploma, with AHA BLS HCP certification preferred.

Qualifications

• One year nursing assistant, medical assistant experience or related healthcare education with arrhythmia interpretation.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required; EMT/CNA/MA training preferred.
• AHA BLS HCP certification or equivalent preferred for hire/continued employment.

Responsibilities

• Interpret, document and report pediatric to geriatric cardiac rhythms under RN supervision.
• Prepare and maintain telemetry records and ensure telemetry system functionality.
• Communicate findings to the care team and document in patient records.
• Work three 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM–7:30 PM) including every third weekend.
