Job summary

Reston Hospital Center is seeking a PRN Monitor Technician to interpret cardiac rhythms, monitor telemetry, and maintain accurate patient records in a fast-paced setting.

This role requires prior experience as a CMT or Monitor Technician and completion of a 12-lead EKG course. The position involves continuous observation, data documentation, and timely notification of rhythm changes to nursing staff, with shift reports and comprehensive documentation support.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as CMT/Cardiac Tech or Monitor Technician preferred
• Completion of a 12 lead EKG course is preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform continuous observation of cardiac telemetry monitors according to hospital policies and procedures.
• Interpret, document, and report data from telemetry monitor systems.
• Utilize proper leads and lead placement; assist in optimal lead placement when needed.
• Prepare, run, document, and analyze rhythm strips on all patients.
• Notify RN/Charge RN/LPN of rhythm changes, interference, or lead issues.
• Maintain an hourly log of each patient’s cardiac rate and rhythm.
• Maintain unit logs and documentation systems; prepare shift reports.
