Job summary

RigUp, Inc. is seeking a Telecommunications Systems Engineer to lead the telecom scope on large, multi-building projects. You will develop design packages, coordinate with architects, engineers, and clients, and ensure compliance with NEC, TIA, and BICSI standards.

Responsibilities include OSP and backbone design, room layouts, and BIM-based deliverables using AutoCAD, SmartPlant, and Revit MEP. Hybrid work with proximity to Tempe, AZ.

Qualifications

• Requires a 2-year technical degree or 4-year non-technical degree.
• Minimum of 5 years in telecommunications design/construction.
• Familiar with TIA standards and BICSI design practices.
• Knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC) and electrical design.
• Experience leading telecom design teams and editing specs.

Responsibilities

• Lead portions of large, complex projects as telecom scope owner.
• Develop telecom design packages with architects, engineers, and discipline leads.
• Interface with clients to understand project requirements and design telecom systems.
• Design OSP infrastructure and backbone distribution.
• Plan communications room layouts, rack elevations, and cabling.
• Produce coordinated BIM, 2D drawings, and specs.
• Use AutoCAD, SmartPlant, and Revit MEP for models.
• Assist startup and commissioning of telecom systems.
• Estimate and schedule design efforts for multi-building projects.
• Coordinate with other disciplines for constructible deliverables.
