Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a field supervisory role in Alabama to lead cabling projects and coordinate a crew of 5+ technicians. You will guide installation, troubleshooting, and documentation, ensuring timely delivery and high customer satisfaction.

The role requires strong communication, blueprint reading, and hands-on experience with cables, switches, routers, and tools. On-site work with potential overtime, safety compliance, and valid credentials is expected.

Qualifications

Expertise in cabling standards and ability to lead projects with 5+ technicians
Proficient in reading blueprints and managing all aspects of project planning
Strong communication skills, including accurate timesheet management
Terminate jacks, patch panels, 66/110 blocks, and follow 568A/B color codes
Use Fluke testers to verify connections and troubleshoot voice/data issues
Install and configure switches, routers, modems, and wireless access points
Work with category cable, COAX, fiber, build out closets, and operate Hilti guns and power tools
Ability to lift/carry/setup a 50 pound box or ladder
Must pass background check, drug screen, and physical
Requires valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and insurance

Requirements

Expertise in cabling standards with the ability to lead projects, delegate tasks, and supervise teams of 5+ technicians
Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and managing all aspects of project planning
Strong communication skills (& verbal) with a focus on accurate timesheet management and efficiency
Terminate jacks, patch panels, 66/110 blocks, and follow 568A/B color codes
Use Fluke testers to verify connections and troubleshoot voice/data issues
Install and configure switches, routers, modems, and wireless access points
Work with category cable, COAX, fiber (RG6, RG11, RG59), build out closets, and operate Hilti guns, hammer drills, band saws, and power tools
Ability to lift/carry/setup a 50 pound box or ladder
Must own low voltage tools (strippers, screwdrivers, wrenches)
Able to work 2nd /3rd shift, overtime, and under pressure
Must pass a 7-year background check, drug screen, and physical
Requires valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and insurance
